SelectSpeak (“the app”) is an Android accessibility tool that captures on-screen text when you tap the floating tab, runs on-device OCR, and reads the result aloud through your device’s text-to-speech engine.
None. SelectSpeak does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information, screenshots, OCR text, usage analytics, device identifiers, location data, or contact information on any server.
All processing — screen capture, text recognition (Google ML Kit Text Recognition v2, on-device model), and speech synthesis — happens locally on your device.
None. No third-party SDKs collect data from the app. No ads. No analytics. No crash-reporting service.
If the app crashes, a local log file is written to the app’s private storage on your device. The log is never transmitted automatically. You can choose to share a crash log via the in-app Share crash log button, which opens Android’s standard share sheet so you pick the destination (e.g., email it to support). The file leaves your device only when you explicitly share it.
SelectSpeak is intended for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Because SelectSpeak does not collect any data, there is nothing for us to delete. To remove all local app data, uninstall the app from your device.
If we ever add features that change this, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted in the app’s release notes.
